Chop-Chop

So I went to talk to an girl about coming into Activity Day Girls. Journey and her little nursery friend were playing together so well. After a while, Bodin comes running out well,"Mom, Journey got her hair cut." Journey's little friend and Journey must have decided that Journey was overdue for a cut, so they fixed it right up. Journey's buddy cut those bangs right up for her. Luckily, her buddy's friend is a hairdresser and fixed it up, as good as you can fix it up. The funny thing is Journey loves her haircut. You can see her beaming with pride when you ask her about it.
It reminds me of the pride she had when she walked out of my room after putting on chapstick...er..mascara:)

Astros Game

We took the kids to their first ever baseball game. We had fantastic seats, we were in the 3rd row behind the opposing teams dug-out. I was a bit nervous being that close and in the middle of a row, but the kids did awesome. It helped that it was an exciting game, amazing for the Astros as of late. We only stayed until the 4th inning because it was getting late, but their were quite a few home runs hit. Whenever a home run was hit, the train would drive, which McKade LOVED!

Cuteness

I think she is so stinkin' cute with the things she says right now. My favorite has to be when she sees a spider. She is scared of them and come out screaming, "Mom, the itsy bitsy spider, the itsy bitsy spider." It is so stinkin' funny we laugh and it takes away from the urgency of the situation.

Awards

McKinna and Bodin had a tremendous 2nd and 4th grade year. Bodin got awards for all A's, Sparkle Patrol, and all excellent behavior marks.
McKinna got an all A-B award, and an all excellent behavior marks.
And McKade took pictures of Journey to pass time during the awards assembly.

Flippin' Around

McKinna got her flip on the trampoline. Good Job!

Soccer

Bodin had a fantastic soccer season this year. He had the most positive, amazing coach this year. We could not have asked for a better coach and he was able to get results from these kids. Bodin improved drastically and looked forward to every game and practice. His coach invited him to play up on the older team for a few games. The kids were much bigger than him, but he held his own. At one game, a father sitting down from us asked his kid who the little kid was playing with them. The kid responded, "His name is Bodin, but he plays like Dynomite." We were so proud.

Birds

For the past 3 years we have had the same momma bird come lay eggs on the fence in our backyard. They have never survived so we were hoping and hoping this year. The kids would check on them everyday and report on their findings. They actually hatched and the kids were beyond excited. Then came the day they started to fly. McKinna and Bodin came in yelling, "The birds are flying. They are gone." McKade in all his seriousness says, "I didn't see that one coming." We all had a good laugh.

Eight is GRRRREAT!

Bodin has a hard time every year when McKinna's birthday arrives first. He pouts when she opens her gifts and carries on and on that it is unfair that she gets to have her party first. The night before his birthday he could hardly contain himself. I let him open up one gift that morning, a Ninjago lego set. He was so excited. He kept telling us that we were the best parents ever and the only way her day could get any better was if his shirt said, "It's my birthday" on it. Check out his shirt when he got home from school...
His amazing teacher made his day perfect. For his party he wanted to go see Marvel Avengers. (I would highly suggest this kind of party, no entertaining).

The double-digit midgit

Wow, 10 years old....and full of attitude!
We started off on her real birthay opening presents from family. She loved them all. For her party this year, I finally consented to a slumber party. Her friends came over and we went and played at the huge park for a while.
This one cracks me up!
The little stinks stayed up ALL night. I thought they fell asleep about one, but then at 3:30 I heard a noise. I don't do well tired and went and threatened them all with their lives. I did not hear another peep until about 9 that morning. We ate some donuts and they headed home. It has been a wonderfully fun year with our first born.

Family Fun Day in Galveston

The family fun days for Ben's work are always a lot of fun. This time they had it right down in Galveston at his work. The kids jumped in bounce houses, got tattoos, ate lunch, ate slushies and fooled around for hours.
One of the best parts of the fun day was checking out one of the work boats. We have never been on the work boat before so it was nice to check it out. It was bigger than I expected.
