Journey is 3

Journey is now officially 3.  We went down to the Christmas Train for her birthday and she had a great time.  She is a smart little girl and loves to go to Daycare.  She always tells us that she loves school.  She memorizes songs like McKinna.  As she sang every word to Jingle Bell Rock, Bodin looked at me and declared that he does not even know all the words.  Neither do I Bodin.  She can also count to 17 in Spanish, as she takes Spanish classes at her school.  She is obsessed with anything and everything Dora.  She loves to try to bug her older brothers and sister and is very successful at it.  She will not let them look out "her" window in the car and she insists on hitting them if they sit next to her.  She can also be the sweetest thing out there and loves to give hugs and kisses.  She stays up late with Ben and I every night and snuggles with us.  She also loves to stay up to get extra ice cream with her dad.  She had to have a purple birthday cake this year and tells everyone that her favorite colors are pink and purple.

Journey had her 3 year old check-up and her doctor laughed as she said that she has stayed constant over the years and is still in the .15% for her size, but at least she is proportionate.  She now weighs all of 22 pounds.  I bought most of her winter clothes in 18 month this year so they would fit her waist.  We sure love our little caboose.  Happy Birthday Journey.

San Luis Hotel in Galveston

This year Ben's work party was at the San Luis hotel in Galveston.  I thought it would be fun to make it a family event and rent a room for the night.  It would be perfect, the kids could sit and watch TV while we went to the party for a few hours, and then we could all swim the next morning.  The plan failed miserably....McKinna and Bodin were calling us every 2 minutes because Journey decided to be naughty.  She cried, she got a crayon and colored the sheets, she tried to escape out of the room, she was just naughty.  Anyway, Ben got to enjoy the party while the rest of us hung out in the room watching TV and then we went swimming the next morning.  I forgot to pack Journey's swimsuit and McKinna forgot to pack hers so you can see the make-shift swimsuits that got worn.  It worked since we were the only crazied up at 0'dark 30 swimming anyway.  I love the note that Bodin left for the manager.

Dickinson Lights

We love walking through the Festival of Lights every year.  Usually it is accompanied with hot cocoa, but since we were in 80 degree weather this year, we skipped the hot chocolate.

These are just some random pictures that I took one day while sitting in the church foyer during sacrament because, surprise surprise, we were late.  Amazing, I know!  Bodin tells me we are always late.  I think I usually do pretty well.  (Mom, pretend you don't see McKade in jeans, at least he is in clean clothes:)

Park

We found  an awesome park to go to.  It has the old school metal merry-go-rounds.  Those bring back great memories of the boys in 6th grade pushing it as fast as humanly possible and then everyone  trying to jump on.  Apparently the edges were just sharp enough that if one were to hit their shin on it stitches would be required as it would cut your leg open to the bone.  Oh, the memories!  Anyway, my kids should get to have some of those memories as well so off to the playground we will all go when you come and visit.  (Big Hint Inserted here).  It also has an underground tunnel, super fast metal slides, and duck feeding as well.

Painted Faces

We went to a friends birthday party and they had face painting.  I love how cute they look with their faces painted.  The boys got small small painting done because they had soccer games to go to later in the day.

Soccer Season 2012

Soccer season has come to an end and a great season it was. McKade improved greatly thoughout the season. He learned to stop the ball and do a backwards kick which really stumped a lot of the little guys, many of the coaches were impressed with his trick too. Bodin also had a fantastic season. He is one of the star players for his defense skills and he was very excited that he even made a goal this season. He loves his soccer.

New House

It was a long process in the making, but we FINALLY got a house.  We searched and searched for a home that would suit our family, and we found it in Brittany Lakes.  The kids will be switching schools after Christmas to Bauershlag Elementary, which Bodin is not to happy about, but I am sure he will quickly make friends and love it.

Halloween 2012

                                                                     Happy Halloween!

Crazy Hair Day 2012

Crazy hair day was a bit crazy this year.  I had just started back to work, McKade and Journey had started daycare and here we are with crazy hair day.  McKinna and Bodin decided that they wanted their hair sprayed with red and blue.  Journey and McKade were not going to go to school without their hair crazy so they got in on the action.  I am sure their teachers loved it, but they felt very cool participating in this once a year activity.
