Bodin's photo shoot

A girl after my own heart

I was trying to make some cookies and Journey was fussing so I threw some brown sugar and cookie dough on her chair. She could not get it fast enough. She started licking it up. She is working on putting the weight on.

Taking on the Jellies!

We were itching to go down and play at the beach last Saturday. We get there by 10 so it was not too crowded and we were having a great time. We played in the water for a while and saw dolphins jumping about 20 yards from us. We then decided we would go up to the shore to catch some crabs. We were almost out of the ocean completely (maybe in two feet of water) when McKade starts screaming and reaching for his feet. Ben was holding him and grabbed him and that is when Ben feels the same stinging sensation, a JELLYFISH. We quickly pour clean water over it and wrap him in a towel so he can not scratch it. We then head to McDonalds. We debated on taking him to an urgent care as his leg looked like it had blisters all over it. We were not sure if he was allergic. We decided that if Mickey D's did not fix the problem we would go. (I know parents of the year.) After about 20 minutes and his smoothie and french fries he was good to go. Here is what his leg looked like later that day. He got stung pretty good.

Bubbles

What's better in the summer than bubbles. We went down to the library to do some experiments with bubbles.

In this experiment they were making bubble art.

At this station they got to stand in the middle of a pool and with a hula hoop a bubble was made over their entire body. Pretty cool!

This experiment was neat. They got to make bubbles in this contraption and the bubbles were so strong they could stick their hands through them without them popping.
We then went and bought a bubble blowing machine. Yes, I am that lazy. I do not want to stand their blowing bubbles all day. This one blows them like crazy. The kids are having a great time with it.

And this is where Journey sat and watched the bubbles.

4th of July

We were not sure what to do or where to go for the 4th. We asked around and everyone told us to go to the Target parking lot as they set off fireworks at the Kemah Boardwalk. We took a neighbor girl and headed out. I will tell you that it was nothing compared to the Holbrook firework show. It was only about 15 minutes long, but the kids still had a great time. We then headed home and let the kids do poppers. They had a good time.
